What makes Oregon Oregon?
Could you capture it in a photo?
Beginning October 1st, submit a photograph that captures resonant elements of our state’s culture, and you could win some incredible prizes: $1,000 cash; $1,000 donations to the cultural nonprofit of your choice; fancy cameras; overnight packages at historic hotels; and more!

The Cultural Trust, of course, specifically champions the work of nonprofits in the fields of arts, heritage, and humanities. More broadly, though, culture refers to “socially transmitted behavior patterns, arts, beliefs, institutions, and all other products of human work and thought” — that’s one definition, anyway, and it suits our mission here: to see what “Oregon culture” means to you.
Share any picture that you’ve taken in Oregon, recently, in the distant past, or between now and October 31st, as you deviously plot to walk away with one of our fabulous prizes.

Stay in the contest loop and hear about new prizes as they become available by following the Cultural Trust on Twitter or “liking” us on Facebook. As October approaches, you’ll also find updates (including photos from some folks whose names you might recognize) here on OregonDaysOfCulture.org.
Now, get out into Oregon culture…and get snapping!

PS. You need not be a professional photographer to win this contest! We’re more interested in good content than high production values. We’d love to see some beautiful photos, sure, but our winning pics could just as easily be taken with a camera phone as a spendy DSLR.
